The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William L. Shirer
This book was written in 1960 and begins in 1889 at Hitler’s birth and ends in 1945 at the end of World War II. It was written from the journals and diaries of Hitler’s inner circle and contemporaries.
This is a pretty exhaustive overview of the entire life of Adolf Hitler. It chronicled the journey of Hitler from vagabond to bully, from gangster to dictator, from leader of government and military to megalomaniac, and finally his descent into madness.
