Jeremy Farris
Writer-Artist-Creative
Jeremy Farris resides in the foothills of North Carolina. At 40, he decided to go back to college. He is currently working on a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, focusing on creative nonfiction. He believes that the truth is the story people need to hear the most. He is an artist who loves to draw, paint, sculpt, and create bonsai trees. He writes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. He is father of three grown boys, and aspires to write nonfiction articles and books focusing on fatherhood, travel, the Bible, and Christian living. He is the co-founder of the Free Art Project, an ongoing art initiative that promotes art education in the community.
Jeremy was raised in a Christian home. He committed his life to Christ at eight years old and like so many Christian children, went apostate during high school. He found himself searching for answers in all the wrong places. At the end of his separation from God, he was on drugs and empty inside. Rededicating his life to Christ in his late twenties, Jeremy began seeking the Lord again. He joined a church and began living the Christian life.
After a few years of the Christian life, Jeremy’s job required ever more travel. This took him away from his family and eventually, from his faith. Rock bottom for Jeremy was an affair that ended his marriage of 17 years. Searching for God in the midst of that sin led him to begin reexamining his life choices. Out of that search for God, he has reconnected with the Lord, repented from that life of sin, and attempted to heal the broken relationships that resulted from the fallout of his divorce.
Now Jeremy is a senior in college and works for a local recycling company. He enjoys spending time with his fiance’ Jenny, their two dogs, two cats, and one fish. When he is not writing, he is busy with something artistic, musical, or educational.
